In this page we list some of the most interesting and typical places in Puglia that can be reached up to an hour drive from Pulsano. We have excluded on this page the city of Taranto which has a dedicated page. Every single place can be visited even in the afternoon or in the evening. For those wishing to dedicate a whole day, we recommend the following two itineraries with stops that are on the same journey:
– Grotte di Castellana (in the morning) – Alberobello (in the afternoon) – Martina Franca (in the evening);
– Zoo Safari (in the morning) – Locorotondo (in the afternoon) – Martina Franca (in the evening).

Campomarino (26km)

Small village on the sea, has a beautiful marina and is very popular in the summer by children and families. The ideal place to spend a different evening, with a walk along the harbor, in the center of the village, and then spend a few hours at the Fuori Rotta (beautiful Disco Pub), where you can listen to Latin American music, enjoying rich cocktails fruit or unusual exotic fruit dishes (see map below).

Martina Franca (45 km)

One of the most beautiful and fascinating villages in the province of Taranto, the queen of Valle d’Itria, the heart of the Murgia. We recommend visiting the beautiful Basilica of San Martino and then take a walk in the small historic center. There are many good rotisseries and restaurants (we recommend the Vecchio Rifugio or Il Sagittario) with excellent quality ratio soon.

Locorotondo (52km)

Also famous for its white wine, it is one of the most fascinating villages in Italy. It has an almost roundish plant and it is very suggestive to walk among the small streets. Since the distance with Alberobello is very close, you can visit them together on the same day.

Alberobello (58km)

Unesco world heritage site, it is one of the most beautiful and characteristic villages in the world, also because the most common dwelling is the Trullo.
The small village is divided by two streets, Via Indipendenza and Largo Martellotta, which separate the two main districts, Rione Monti and Rione Aia Piccola. The small Rione Aia district is home to about 400 Trullos and is known for its interweaving of streets and alleys with a charming atmosphere.
The Rione Monti district is instead famous for the sight of its thousand Trullos, many of which climbed on the side of the hill overlooking the square of Largo della Foggia.

Ostuni – the white town (58km)

Another beautiful town, known for its white houses and small and characteristic alleys. In the Palazzo del Comune (Piazza della Libertà), the large canvases by the painter Onofrio Bramante are very beautiful, showing the most important events of the ancient history of Puglia. The same canvases are illustrated in the book by Pietro Lucchese “Storia della Puglia raccontata” – Ed. Carra. In summer it is beautiful to visit, especially in the afternoon when it is less hot. In the evening it is very popular with the boys, the restaurants are on average very good and you can find nice pubs.

ZOO Safari – Fasano (62km)

The only Italian safari zoo, where you can cross the park by car, and see very closely giraffes, monkeys, lions and many other exotic animals, of course in safety. Inside there is also a playground, for this reason it is the ideal place for children.

Grotte di Castellana – Caves of Castellana (75km)

A unique place in the world in terms of size and colors, these are the karst caves of Castellana Grotte. This is why it is one of the recommended places to go with children.
